Agent Helper questions
How long can Agent Helper keep my Mac awake?
Choose 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or indefinitely from the menu bar. Timed sessions end on their own when the time is up, and you can stop any session early from the same menu.
Does it keep the display on too?
Only if you want it to. "Keep display awake" is a separate switch in Settings → General. With it off, Agent Helper prevents idle system sleep while letting the display sleep normally.
Where do the release versions come from?
Agent Helper reads publicly published package metadata from the npm registry (registry.npmjs.org) for the coding-agent CLIs you choose to follow. You pick which tools to watch in Settings → Agents, and notifications about new versions are optional.
Where are my saved prompts stored?
On your Mac, in the app's local sandbox container. There is no account, no sign-in, and no sync — nothing you save leaves your machine.
Why is there no icon in the Dock?
Agent Helper is a menu bar app by design. Click its menu bar icon to open the menu, and use Settings from that menu to change options. You can pick a different menu bar icon style in Settings → Appearance.
What does Agent Helper require?
macOS 14 or later. Agent Helper is sandboxed and uses network access only to check published CLI versions.
Something isn't working. What should I try first?
Quit Agent Helper from its menu and reopen it, and make sure you're on the latest version from the Mac App Store. If the problem continues, email us at apps@mushin.dev with your macOS version and the Agent Helper version shown in Settings → About.
